What the ATS check reports
Four things, in this order. The first two are the check; the last two are what most checkers stop short of.
1. ATS match score
How much of the posting's requirements — skills, tools, qualifications, phrasing — your current resume covers. Scored against the job you paste, not a generic checklist.
2. Missing keywords
The exact terms the posting uses that your resume does not. These are what an applicant tracking system ranks on, and the list tells you what to add and where.
3. The fixed resume
Missing keywords worked into the right sections, weak bullet points rewritten, and formatting flattened to a single column that every parser reads. Delivered as a PDF.
4. Score after the fix
The fixed version is scored again against the same posting, so you can see the before and after and decide whether it is ready to send.
How to check your resume against an ATS
About two minutes, end to end.

What an applicant tracking system actually checks
Most of the anxiety about ATS comes from not knowing what it does. It does two things, and both are measurable.
