2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. We may also collect optional profile information you choose to provide.

Resume & Document Files

Our core service requires you to upload your resume. We accept PDF, DOCX, JPG, and PNG files. These files may contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as your full name, home address, phone number, email address, work history, educational background, and other personal details.

Job Descriptions

We collect the job description text you paste into the service. This text is used solely to tailor your resume to the specific role you are applying for.

Payment Information

All payments are processed through Stripe, Inc. We do not store, see, or have access to your full credit card number, CVV, or any raw payment card data. Your payment information goes directly to Stripe's secure servers. We only receive a confirmation of successful payment and a transaction ID.

Usage & Technical Data

We automatically collect certain technical information when you use FixResume.net, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, features used, and session timestamps. This data helps us improve the platform and diagnose technical issues.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and improve the FixResume.net service.
• To process your resume optimization, cover letter generation, and resume builder requests.
• To manage your account, credit balance, and purchase history.
• To send you transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation, purchase receipts).
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraudulent activity or violations of our Terms of Service.
• To respond to support requests and inquiries.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your resume content or personal data for advertising targeting.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

Anthropic (AI Processing)

Your uploaded resume files and pasted job description text are transmitted to Anthropic's API (the provider of the Claude AI models) to perform the resume optimization and cover letter generation. This data transmission is essential to deliver the core functionality of the service.

Anthropic does not use data submitted through their API to train their public AI models. Your resume content is not used to improve Anthropic's models. You can review Anthropic's data handling practices at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Stripe (Payment Processing)

All credit purchases are processed by Stripe, Inc., a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. When you enter payment details, they are submitted directly to Stripe's secure infrastructure. We never see or store your raw card data. Review Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Analytics Providers

We may use analytics services such as Google Analytics to understand aggregate user behavior on our platform. Data collected is anonymized and used only to improve the product experience. See our Cookie Policy for details on what cookies these services set.

Infrastructure & Hosting

Our platform is hosted on cloud infrastructure. We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data stored on our servers, including encryption at rest and in transit.

5. Data Retention

Resume files and generated output are stored in your account and remain accessible on your dashboard until you delete them manually or close your account.

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, your personal information will be deleted from our active systems within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations.

Transaction records (e.g., payment history) may be retained for up to 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes, even after account deletion. These records do not include your resume content.

6. Account Deletion

You may request full account deletion at any time by either:

• Navigating to Profile → Delete Account in your dashboard settings, or
• Sending a deletion request to support@fixresume.net from the email address associated with your account.

Upon deletion, all your personal data, uploaded resume files, and AI-generated documents will be permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days.

7. Your Privacy Rights

EU / EEA Residents (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
• Bcrypt hashing for passwords — your plain-text password is never stored.
• Access controls limiting internal access to personal data to only those who need it.

While we take these precautions seriously, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.

9. Children's Privacy

FixResume.net is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from someone under 16, please contact us immediately at support@fixresume.net and we will delete it promptly.

10. International Data Transfers

FixResume.net is operated globally, and your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. When transferring data outside the EU/EEA, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses, to ensure your data remains protected.
